Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides direct patient care to assigned patients in the Internal Medicine Clinic. The MA works under the direct supervision of the clinic nurse(s) by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients.

Salary offered commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts patient interviews,
  • Measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height).
  • Update information on patients’ Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Perform EKG’s and dressing changes.
  • Draws and collects blood samples.
  • Prepares specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination.
  • Performs administrative tasks by registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, etc.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Minimum:

  • High School Diploma/GED plus successful completion of Medical Assistant Training from an Accredited Program.
  • Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.

Preferred:

  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • BLS and CPR certified.
