Position Overview:

This will be a full-service Automotive Repair Technician position able to diagnose and repair operational issues on many makes and models of vehicles, generally 3 to 10 years old.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints (described through a manager); conducting inspections; diagnosing functionality issues; repairing diagnosed mechanical failures in a timely manner; repairing multiple system issues including electrical, cooling, braking, HVAC, steering and other system malfunctions; replacing parts and components to used vehicles 3 to 10 years old.
Understand and use standard diagnostic tools such as code readers and shop software programs to maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
Make any and all repairs necessary to vehicles including rebuilds of major components
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
Contains costs by evaluating service and parts options
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipt

Job Requirements:

3 years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing used vehicles in a commercial service facility including working in a dispatcher type system and ordering parts when necessary
A track record of dependable diagnostic capability – references required
Must provide own tools
Work in a minimally climate controlled facility daily
Capable of customer interaction when necessary
Good driving record

Physical Requirements:

This is a heavy line technician position with the standard physical demands of that position
