Sales consultant – Freeman Motor – Portland, OR

The Sales Consultant is responsible for assisting customers in finding vehicles, test drives with customers and demonstrating the features and benefits of the vehicle. Capable of answering questions from the customer and assist in every aspect of buying a vehicle. A sales rep/consultant will negotiate price, terms and conditions and follow the direction of the Sales Manager on duty. All sales consultants will escort their customers throughout the sales process.


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

takes an inventory walk daily to understand vehicles by studying characteristics, capabilities and features; comparing and contrasting competitive models; inspecting automobiles
develops buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggesting trade-ins; meeting prospects at community activities; greeting drop-ins; responding to inquiries; recommending sales campaigns and promotions
qualifies buyers by understanding buyer’s requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models; building rapport
demonstrates vehicles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features after

required to pull out vehicles when necessary and return them after test drive
closes sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating price; explaining provisions, explaining, delivers automobile
required to complete paperwork that dealership requires and to help car buyers complete finance applications and any paperwork that may be required to sell a vehicle
provides sales management information by sending end of day emails
provides follow up and ensures favorable customer satisfaction
responsible for checking email/voicemail regularly throughout the day
updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
ability to follow up by phone and internet to provide favorable customer satisfaction
required to keep assigned desk space neat and clean


Education and Experience:

Education and Experience:
completion of a car salesman training program provided by dealership after 1 year
prior auto sales experience is not required, but may be a plus
