The Commercial Banking Proposals team (CB Proposals) is part of the Wholesale Payments Product Delivery organization. The team supports treasury, commercial card and healthcare payment services requests for proposals (RFPs) from Commercial Banking, Business Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking and InstaMed sales organizations. CB Proposals works with sales and product team members to create client-focused, concise, compelling and compliant proposals in response to RFPs.


Role

The CB Proposals Group Manager is responsible for managing a team of Proposal Managers and Writers who actively manage and write a portfolio of responses to RFPs. The Group Manager plays a key role in the development of proposal staff.

In this role, you’ll need to develop expertise in the team’s processes and applications, as well as foster teamwork and leadership. You’ll offer clear guidance and feedback to your colleagues and team members, while promoting the values, culture, and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co. In this role, you’ll:

  • Manage a team of proposal staff and provide leadership, coaching, recognition and feedback across all aspects to achieve successful performance including proposal management and writing best practices
  • Create an outstanding employee experience and a winning culture, resulting in a place where people are excited to come to work every day
  • Empower and coach proposal staff to take initiative and make sound decisions
  • Build collaborative internal relationships with key stakeholders
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for escalated proposal issues
  • Understand RFPs and the bidding process and provide consultative advice to proposal staff, sales and product
  • Promote and provide training on writing concise, persuasive and customized proposal responses for each client
  • Complete quality control checks of completed proposals to ensure compliance with the established process and writing standards
  • Work with other Group Managers and Proposal Executive to define team priorities and strategy
  • Lead ad hoc process improvement projects
  • Work with Product Delivery teams to create new, standard proposal content for new products and features through the Ready to Launch program
  • Align daily activities to drive strategic priorities
  • Protect the firm by applying sound risk management protocols
  • Create a positive work environment that is open, fair and inclusive

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a leadership capacity, ability to motivate at an individual and team level
  • Experience with sales, product or implementation of treasury or commercial card services
  • Minimum 5 years business writing or proposal writing experience preferably in banking/TS products; excellent business writing and grammar skills are essential
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to network, partner and influence leaders in various parts of the organization in order to move the business forward
  • Ability to balance producing strong results with proper risk management, strong compliance record
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; adaptive to change
  • High level of independence, energy and integrity; demonstrates respect for a diversity of opinions and styles and accepts accountability and responsibility
  • Collaborates with others to achieve common goals and demonstrates conflict resolution, leadership, coaching and delegation skills
  • Minimum intermediate Microsoft Word and Adobe Professional proficiency required

  • Understanding of government bidding / corporate procurement requirements and process
