Sea Mar seeks a full time Communications Coordinator to work out of its central Administration office in south Seattle. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for implementing communications strategies with multiple internal and external partners.

Job duties include:

  • Develop and implement a long-term strategy to improve visibility and public awareness of Sea Mar’s comprehensive services and mission.
  • Create and execute communications activities and strategies that promote and enhance internal operations as well as public perception of the agency.
  • Develop and maintain agency-wide communications plan.
  • Develop and execute media outreach plan.
  • Manage and prioritize communications project requests and assigns tasks.
  • Produce content for brochures, flyers, annual report, website, social media, radio programming and other publications.
  • Coordinate production of agency newsletters, brochures and marketing materials, including reviewing for overall quality and appearance, style, content, and conformance with agency policy.
  • Participate on special events committees to make sure marketing needs are met including developing strategies, producing promotional materials, updating the website, writing news releases. Annual events include Seattle and Yakima golf tournaments, Fiestas Patrias, annual county holiday parties, Latino Legislative Day, National Health Center Week, Latino Health Forum, Latina Health Fair.
  • Coordinate public relations for Sea Mar events, including but not limited to photography, production of newsletters, press releases and media relations.
  • Manage project timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Oversee and implement social media strategies.
  • Ensure branding strategy is implemented throughout Sea Mar, including visit sites to monitor implementation of branded items and determine signage and publication needs at the site level.
  • Collaborate with agency staff regarding communications strategies including marketing, publications, and promotional materials such as brochures, banners, exhibition displays, table runners, etc.
  • Complete bidding process for printed publications and contractor work.
  • Act as liaison between communications-related contractors and Sea Mar.
  • Act as the organization’s brand manager by enforcing the Sea Mar’s branding guide.
  • Analyze and evaluates results of marketing efforts.
  • Build Sea Mar’s relationships with media and other community stakeholders.
  • Communicate with supervisors, managers and senior leadership about communications strategies, protocol and processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to compile, interpret, and utilize information; and to communicate effectively with people of all backgrounds and educational levels. Requires experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; web site design experience preferred. Must be able to multi-task, problem solve, thrive in a dynamic work environment, and enjoy working with a variety of people. College degree in communications, marketing or related field required. Three or more years’ work experience in marketing or communications strongly preferred. Experience managing marketing and communications projects preferred. Spanish speaker with translation skills highly preferred. Non-profit, and/or healthcare communications experience a plus.
