Phlebotomist Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced specimen/ sample collector to join our growing healthcare team. In this position, you will collect nasal samples from patients and donors, identifying and labeling all collected samples accurately for tests.
You will take patient and donor information, record documentation, monitor patient throughout the procedure, and store samples as required.
Specimen Collector Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble and set up medical instruments ( testing kits.)
- Position and prepare the patient for sample collection
- Make sure patient or donor is calm and comfortable
- Monitor the patient for reactions; monitor equipment operations
- Monitor and take patient vital signs and heart rate as needed
- Educate patient on immediate after care
- Provide patient care and support
- Verify a patient or donor identity
- Maintain a clean and sanitary space; sterilize supplies properly
- Ensure donor confidentiality
- Send collected samples to laboratory for testing
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
