Job Title: Health & Safety Coordinator / HR Generalist

Reports To: HR Manager

Department: Human Resources

FLSA: Exempt

Responsible for:
· Ensure that federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes are observed.

· Inspect the organization’s facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards; recommends corrective or preventive measure where appropriate.

· Work with management to create policies to protect company property and keep employees safe.

· Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations.

· Help develop controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents and injuries.

· Participates in or supervises the investigation and completion of accidents and injuries reported.

· Compile, analyze, interpret, and report accidents. Review property and injury reports.

· Responsible for the overall administration of workers compensation program.

· Coordinate administration of Workers Compensation safety programs, authorization of injury treatment, as needed. Monitors all accident investigations.

· Complete Safety & Environment Reports

· Serve as chair to Safety Committee, conduct regular safety meetings, and Lead Safety Committee activities.

· Conduct daily analyses of accident causes as well as identify hazards

· Manage OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.

· Conduct training, annual KYOSHA/OSHA required training safety and accident prevention programs

· Administer, coordinate, and training all Health & Safety related items and permits as required to comply with local, state and federal regulations. Updates documents and training to remain current with latest requirements/legislation.

· Ensure and maintain ISO compliance and audits.

· Responsible for safety manual. Train employees on all necessary Health & Safety programs, assist and participate in the development of orientation of new hires in the area of Health & Safety. Coordinates and facilitates meetings and activities of the Safety committee.

· Responsible for development and implementation of hazmat procedure and policies.

· Walks Plant floor daily and participates in meetings on the Plant floor

· Process Weekly & Bi-weekly payroll

· Ensure pay changes are approved and paid timely & correctly

· Ensure HRIS are updated correctly

· Provide finance payroll related reports

· Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding process

· Help ensure other departments headcount needs are met

· Administers and ensures company policies and procedures are followed

· Conducts investigations and administers conflict resolution; including EEOC and Unemployment cases

· Oversees and ensures employee activities are conducted and supports engagement

· Provides guidance and supports Plant Operations and ensures compliance

· Recruit and hire hourly non-exempt employees

· Process pre-employment background checks and drug screening

· Maintains employee personnel files, I-9’s, medical, training files and follows Company retention policies

· Track Vacation & Time off Requests and reporting

· Completes and maintains HR reports, including EEO, OSHA records and logs timely and efficiently

· Conducts training for all employees on HR Compliance topics

· Analyze and submit HR related invoices for payment

· Other Task Required by the manager

Education:
· At least a high school diploma or GED

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Additional Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
· 3-5 year experience in safety, environmental, or health management and compliance.

· Microsoft office suite proficiency required

· Strong Problem solving abilities

· Demonstrated exceptional people management skills

· Prior experience with payroll and financial regulations

· Automotive plant experience desired, but not required

· HRIS Payroll System knowledge (SAP, Paycor, desired but not required)

· Excellent communication skills

· Physical demands require standing, working in manufacturing plant environment, walking manufacturing plant floor multiple times daily, bending, reaching, stooping and occasional lifting between 25-30 lbs

· Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
