Class A Mechanic / Diesel Technician – Land Air – Springfield, MA

Land Air is seeking CLASS A DIESEL MECHANICS

NO WEEKENDS, COMPETITIVE PAY, & GREAT BENEFITS

First or Second shift available

Description of Essential Job Functions:

• Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of class 7 and 8 diesel equipment in compliance with the manufacturers’ and company schedules.

• Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of forklifts and trailing equipment in compliance with the manufacturers’ and company schedules.

• Perform computer diagnostics on class 7 and 8 diesel trucks.

• Repair or rebuild all or part of equipment systems including diesel engines.

• May weld and cut parts, using arc-welding and flame cutting equipment.

• Responsible for completing repair orders in a computerized maintenance system.

• Perform DOT safety inspections of equipment and prepare DOT safety documentation.• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance (including: inspect and perform work in, on or under parts of vehicles and trailers).

• Safely walk & stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery (including working outdoors in inclement weather)

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally).

• Responsible for shop cleanliness, safety and compliance.

• Apply knowledge and work in accordance with DOT, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other rules and regulations as required.

• Participate in training programs offered by company or outside vendors.

• Prompt, daily attendance at assigned work location.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
