Title: Accountant Supervisor: Chief Financial Officer

Function: To ensure that the accounting, informational and reporting requirements of the company are accurate, effective, clearly communicated, and understood by all employees.

Scope: The Accountant is responsible for budgeting, planning, completing accounting functions including accounts payable and accounts receivable, coordinating payroll, processing information, making deposits, traveling to sites, reporting, billing, working with outside agencies and governmental units, processing and reconciling medical billings, and supporting other areas of the organization.

Accountabilities: Under the guidance and direction of the supervisor the Chief Financial Officer shall:

1. Regulatory: Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of information and forms monitoring and regulating financial, tax and fiscal areas. Ensure current knowledge of corporate fiscal applications, maintain an understanding and compliance with ADA, Workers’ Compensation, insurance and wage and hour issues.

2. Management: Ensure the integrity of financial information systems for the organization; coordinate information throughout the organization; provide multiple-site support and training to all areas of the organization in financial information systems management; participate in planning and the management team process; maintain internal processes management including reporting and measurement processes; manage team process for goal outcomes.

3. Financial and Accounting: Ensure accurate and timely financial and reporting information throughout the organization; maintain timely payroll functions; maintain positive banking relationships; maintain corporate general ledger; maintain planning and budgeting operations for the organization; ensure all banking, federal, and multi-state compliance procedures are maintained.

4. Supervision: Provide supervision of the fiscal functions throughout the organization; train personnel for the financial and information systems, provide a documented growth environment for all personnel in the area of responsibility.

5. Satisfaction: Ensure all systems of internal and external processes maintain satisfaction levels achieving corporate benchmarks; monitor satisfaction systems as a part of the corporate success measurement.

6. Process Owner: Serve as process owner to develop and monitor goals for the fiscal services area; provide coaching support seminars in budget planning and financial presentation; and surveys for wage and benefit awareness.

7. Policy: Ensure the development and adherence to accounting, information and budgeting practices, and ensure all federal, state and auditing policies are implemented and current. Ensure that policies of money management are written and implemented.

8. Other: Assume duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

*ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS*

Education:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Business Administration, required
  • CPA and/or MBA Preferred

Experience:

Zero to two years of accounting experience

  • General accounting including payroll, accounts payable and receivable
  • Prior auditing or public accounting experience preferred
  • Auditing of employee benefits plans preferred
  • Prior corporate tax experience required
  • Prior Medicaid cost reporting experience preferred
  • Extensive electronic medical billing experience required

Skills:

  • Demonstrate effective written communication
  • Demonstrate effective verbal communication and facilitation skills
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and CMS cost reporting requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle that is covered for liability insurance

Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
