Maintenance Technician – Cypress Communities – McComb, MS

The Maintenance Tech joining our Team should possess experience with the following as it relates to Apartment Maintenance:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • HVAC
  • Carpentry
  • Sheetrock
  • Flooring
  • Painting
  • Maintenance Technology Related to Work Orders / Tasks

What the Maintenance Tech will do in the job:

  • Respond to and complete emergency maintenance tasks in a timely manner at the root of the issue
  • Attend a Weekly Meeting on Monday mornings and Daily Huddles Tuesday through Friday
  • Perform Interior Preventive Maintenance Checklists
  • Coordinate with the Community Manager and Team to prioritize Preventive Maintenance and Routine Maintenance tasks weekly
  • Complete some Renovation and Make Ready tasks and prepare Vacant Units for move-in (Light Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Sheetrock, Flooring, HVAC, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot HVAC issues
  • Troubleshoot Plumbing issues
  • Provide excellent Customer Service when interacting with Residents, Guests, and Vendors
  • Identify issues regarding safety, hazardous conditions or maintenance needs in the property and correct them or report them to the Community Manager
  • Perform Exterior Preventative Maintenance
  • Perform electrical and plumbing work as required
  • Use an iPad or Smart Phone to close work orders / tasks in Online Maintenance System with notes and photos (training provided)
  • Deliver notices to residents and assist with other tasks as needed

What you must have:

  • A strong WILLINGNESS TO LEARN the Cypress way of Maintenance
  • At least 3 years of general maintenance/general repair experience, preferably in the apartment industry
  • EPA Type I, Type II or Universal HVAC certification desired
  • Trade skills including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, framing, painting, roofing, cabinetry, pools, appliance, etc.
  • Trade Licensing preferred but not required
  • Must live within 30 minutes of community (McComb, MS)
  • Must be willing to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Must have dependable transportation
  • Must be able to work a rotating on-call schedule shared by the Team

The maintenance technician will work on a team to perform:

  • Preventive interior and exterior maintenance checklists
  • Routine maintenance and service calls
  • Interior and Exterior Improvement tasks
  • Make Readies on vacant units

The ideal candidate will have prior maintenance experience in the apartment industry. Candidate MUST be able to assist with on-call responsibilities.

Hourly wage is offered along with paid vacation, PTO and full medical benefits. Additional performance incentives and benefits may apply.
