The RN Infection Control/Educator Coordinator is to evaluate the quality of patient care and patient outcomes as they relate to nosocomial infections; collects, prepares, and analyzes nosocomial infection data; presents infection data and makes recommendations for actions. Monitors employee compliance in use of barriers and infection prevention measures; prepares and presents educational offerings for the staff and serves as a resource to all departments and personnel. In addition, observes performance of all levels of nursing personnel, identify staff development needs and implement educational programs to meet those needs, facilitate orientation of new employees, ensure adequate staffing of the nursing department, ensure adequate supplies for the nursing department and assist with ensuring compliance with all State and Federal regulations for participation in Medicare and Medicaid particularly as related to In-service Education for Ridgewood Care Center.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited nursing education program
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
Three or more years’ experience in long term care.
No resident abuse convictions.
Current CPR Certification.
Prompt and regular attendance.
Participate in the on-call manager rotation
Knowledge & Skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in adult education desirable.
Basic knowledge of State and Federal regulations for Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and basic computing skills.
