As a pediatric dental assistant, you will work chairside the doctor to promote good dental and general health through education and patient interaction. We are looking for an enthusiastic dental assistant to join our Renton team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare patient for dental hygiene by welcoming, soothing, seating and draping patient.
- Record treatment information in the patient’s chart.
- Examine patients’ mouth for oral health, OHI, and provide the following treatment as instructed and approved by the dentist:
- Perform 4 and 6 hand assisting
- Perform Prophy
- Take x-rays
- Apply sealants
- Take impressions of teeth
- Complete chart notes
- Answer questions and provide parents, or guardians with information about patients’ oral health, treatment, and hygiene.
- Communicate and work alongside dental staff to provide the patient with high level of care.
Requirements/Competencies
- State of Washington Dental Assistant Registration will be required by start date
- Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients, parents, doctors and staff, in person and on the telephone
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once
