Kootenai Health’s Inpatient Pharmacy is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team!
As a pharmacy tech on our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of state-of-the-art technology and equipment including Pyxis Pharmogistics Perpetual Inventory Manager, Pyxis Medstation ES, Pyxis Anesthesia Carts, CII Safe, pneumatic tube system, and TPN compounder. You will assist pharmacists with preparing medication to send/deliver to patient/nursing units and you’ll will interact with nursing staff to help provide excellent care for patients. You will compound and package both sterile and non-sterile products for patient use. In this role, you’ll also interact patients to obtain an accurate and safe home medication list for use while in the hospital.

Position Summary:
As a certified pharmacy technician, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders/prescriptions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department
Receives and stores incoming supplies
Verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
Communicates effectively with customers
Performs a variety of tasks
Typically reports to supervisor or manager
Performs other related duties as assigned
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Competent to meet age specific needs of the patients served
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent work experience preferred
Must have a Certified Pharmacy Technician license with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy
Must have at least one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Demonstrated ability to use computer skills including keyboarding and practical data entry into data based software programs
Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs
Must be able to maintain a standing position
Typical equipment used in a clinical job
Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
