Front Desk Receptionist – Surgicare of Brooklyn – Brooklyn, NY

We are an Ambulatory Surgery center in need of Front Desk Receptionist to greet patients. The Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties, handling all patient intake paperwork for proper charting, answering phones, and handling company/doctor inquiries.

MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH HOURS

Spanish Speaking a MUST.

Primary responsibilities

  • Greet high volume of patients and visitors, maintaining patient flow at front desk
  • Print and distribute schedules for next day and prep all charts
  • Answer phone inquiries, take messages and route calls in a timely manner
  • Give visitors wristbands and direct them to where they can sign in
  • Ask for picture ID and verify all patient demographics accurately
  • Greet Patients warmly and make sure they are comfortable
  • Assists with the flow of patients by notifying the pre-op nurse of patient arrivals
  • Accurately verify all patient intake forms are completed in the patient’s chart
  • Explain paperwork/policies as needed
  • Send email and faxes
  • Perform basic bookkeeping, filing, and clerical duties
  • Maintains the patient procedure and visitor log book
  • Consistently adheres to OSHA blood-borne pathogen guidelines; applies universal precautions to all situations.

Qualifications:

  • Full Time Position
  • Aware of HIPAA laws
  • General knowledge of medical documents

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of related experience in the medical field
  • Excellent customer service mindset and superb communication skills (written, oral and electronic)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate skills in Excel

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
