Gastro-MD is a premier surgery center opening a new location in Tampa with a highly skilled and dedicated team aimed at providing excellence in a caring atmosphere. Our doctors, nurses, and courteous staff take care of patients in a state of the art, newly constructed, beautiful outpatient surgery center.

We are looking for an experienced Full Time Circulating RN who will provide patientcare in our state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center. The Circulator RN is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the standard of care for assigned patients through assessment, implementation, intervention, and continuous reassessment. The Circulating RN actively supports and promotes the centers values and will be under the direction of the Administrator.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess, instruct, and prepare patients prior to surgery
• Takes and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
• Provides competent care in circulating cases
• Maintains a sterile field by practicing aseptic techniques
• Adheres to principles and procedures of infection control required in the OR setting
• Utilize appropriate body mechanics in moving patients to stretchers and OR tables to prevent injury
• Communicates with members of the healthcare team as necessary in the delivery of care
• Gathers pertinent care data and ensures that operative and informed consents are signed and accurate
• Maintains awareness of the status of assigned patients
• Initiates IV and ensures patients are educated regarded the procedure
• Performs intervention duties during post-operative emergencies
• Assess the patient’s post-operative condition
• Monitors vital signs to ensure patient meets discharge criteria
• Review patient charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current active FL RN Licensure
• Current BLS & ACLS certification
• Demonstrates professional knowledge regarding nursing standards and policies, including AAAHC regulations, Patient Bill of Rights and Standards of Nursing Care and Nurse Practice Act
• Customer Service Oriented
• General clinical competency in acute patient care
• Effective communicator

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

• GI experience is necessary
• Multi-specialty & previous ambulatory surgery center experience is preferred
• Basic computer proficiency

Pay: $32.00 – $34.00 per hour
