JOB DETAIL
- Position: Full-time permanent
- Hourly Rate: $15.00 – $16.00
- Work Schedule: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM (12 hour shift) 3 days/1st week and 4 days/2nd week
- Premium: 10% shift premium for night shift
YOUR POSITION*
The Machine Operator positions at IHI Ionbond – Madison Heights is a fast paced, detail oriented and key position to the facility. You will be able to perform expertly and consistently pre-coat and post-coat functions to the prescribed methods and process paths to optimize coatings quality and production throughput.
The individual(s) must possess a high-performer mentality, have great attention to detail, reliable and be forward thinking. The selected candidate(s) will also be skilled at taking direction, working efficiently/quickly while maintaining accuracy. Candidates with passion for excellence and above all else, desire to achieve, will be at the top of the list.
WHAT DEFINES THIS JOB?
- Perform assigned functions, processes, and procedures that meet customer orders specifications, quality requirements, and production standards
- Work with supervisors and staff to operate and closely monitor high-vacuum PVD coating chambers and Cleaning Lines
- Conduct periodical checks ensuring the machine and process is running correctly
- Load and unload customer products into machines while handling parts with care
- Perform general maintenance and clean interior of coating machines
- De-fixture batch loads after processing
- Carry out visual inspection on parts after processing
WHAT DO WE ASK?
- Previous experience in manufacturing or other related fields (5+ year exp. preferred)
- Mechanical, Electrical + Troubleshooting background is a plus!
- Familiarity with machine operation, manufacturing tools and equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Good dexterity skills, able to handle precision machined parts
- Able to read instructions in English
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a criminal background check and physical screening
Not Required (BUT beneficial to have)
- Experience in Quality Control
- Experience with PVD and Coating Equipment is also plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and inspection techniques
- Knowledge of shop math
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Computer literate

Must be able to read work instructions in English. All positions are required to undergo a drug screening, pre-placement physical, reference and criminal background check.
*NOTE: This position may start on a contingency basis through our local staffing service for a period of 30-90 days, based on performance. Actual Full-Time, Regular hire date based on performance during the contingency period.
