Responsible for collection and application of insurance co-pays and patient balances while editing encounters at check-out. Responsible for all aspects of insurance claims and payments. Handle insurance and billing inquiries, both on the telephone and at check-out. Monitor outstanding and overdue accounts including payment arrangements, referring to collections when appropriate. Responsible for obtaining and documenting patient referrals to specialty physicians as required by physicians and insurance providers.
