The Cleaning Technician performs a wide variety of duties to clean and disinfect health or office facilities and ensure a safe environment for all patients, visitors, and staff. The Environmental Services Technician may assist supervisors with work assignments, work flow, staff training, work direction, and special assignments. Work is performed independently under little to no supervision. The incumbent needs to be flexible in work assignments due to the varying business needs of the department.
Routine cleaning – Clean and disinfect facilities, special use rooms, restrooms, patient rooms, exam rooms, operating rooms, Emergency Department, laboratories, classrooms, offices, kitchens, stairwells, and hallways using proper equipment, wearing of personal protection equipment (PPE), cleaning agents, and techniques.
Floor surfaces – Protect and preserve floor surfaces to maintain appropriate appearance and cleanliness.
Cleaning equipment – Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies to preserve and prepare for future use.
Hours:
Monday and Thursday, 6pm to 8pm
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 6pm to 9:30pm
No weekends, paid holidays
Job Requirements:
a. Preferred high school graduate or equivalent required.
b. One year previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, and/or medical environment preferred.
c. Outstanding customer services skills required. Demonstrating positive and professional behavior is required at all times.
d. Ability to work efficiently, effectively and accurately under pressure is required.
e. Problem solving skills, including knowing when it may be appropriate to notify his/her manager of an issue is required.
f. Ability to work independently with little supervision is required.
g. Ability to multi-task is required.
