The registered nurse is responsible for delivering care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The registered nurse will effectively interact with patients, family members, and other employees while maintaining standards of professional nursing

Make accurate and ongoing assessment of the resident’s status and respond appropriately
Document accurate and ongoing assessment of the resident’s response to the care provided, resident’s needs, problems, capabilities, limitations and progress toward goals.
Communicate with the facilities physician regarding resident’s needs and changes in their conditions
Collaborate with other facility staff members to ensure the resident’s well-being
Perform direct patient care utilizing the established policies and procedures of the facility
Provide personal care to provide comfort and well-being to the resident, acknowledging physiological and psychological needs. Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise and professional manner
Provide a thorough, concise report at the change of shift. Communicate pertinent information to the appropriate person in a timely manner. Accurately transcribe physician orders according to the facilities policies and procedures
Maintain a clean, neat and safe environment for the facilities resident’s staff. Ensure that supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner
Assist resident’s family members with concern and empathy. Respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner
Follow proper reporting procedures for actual or potential accidents and/or incidents
Administer medications to residents in an accurate, timely manner. Monitor and document medication for residents for effectiveness of drugs and occurrence of adverse effects
Follow care plans related to each resident’s needs and his/her comprehensive assessment
Identify resident problem and emergency situation and initiate emergency care and “life-saving” measures
Follow facility residents rights policies and procedures
Observe all facility safety polices and procedures
Follow residents’ rights policies at all times
Come to work in a clean, neat uniform and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance
Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents’ representative, facility staff, physicians, consultant, and ancillary service providers
Perform all duties assigned in an effective, cooperative, timely and professional manner
