As our Blog Manager, you will play an integral role on our Digital Team and help us drive forward our long-term blogging strategy. Your key areas of responsibility include managing the day-to-day blogging operations and a large part of the content-creation side of our business.

To be successful, you must be a great writer and enjoy the creative process. You must have an attention to detail, be capable of leading a team, and have the ability to handle a heavy workload. You’ll need to quickly learn the needs, motives, and desires of our readers and implement an editorial strategy that drives revenue.
Who we write for

Our audience is people preparing to move that want to know more about the costs of moving, keeping their family safe, and how to work with a moving company. Our articles focus on explaining the moving process and providing practical advice that helps our readers design a move that’s problem-free.
What you’ll do

You will lead a small team of writers with the following key areas of responsibilities.

  • Interview, hire, and onboard new staff writers.
  • Cultivate and support a team of guest writers.
  • Create an environment where high-quality articles are born.

You will lead and manage our editorial process with the following key areas of responsibilities.

Create content ideas

  • Properly research industry trends and consumer needs.
  • Develop ideas for new articles, research reports, buyer guides, and other content types.
  • Build consensus with the management team on editorial plans.

Work with our team of writers

  • Teach writers about our preferred style and tone.
  • Help writers develop their article ideas.
  • Thoroughly review and proofread article drafts.
  • Manage writer productivity and article quality.

Prepare and publish content

  • Review, edit, and optimize articles for SEO.
  • Write article summaries, image captions, and meta information.
  • Source images and related resources.
  • Enhance articles with inline ads, internal links, and various calls to action.
  • Add articles to our blog content management system (we use Webflow).

Distribute and promote content

  • Post articles on our blog, microsites, and third-party sites.
  • Share and promote articles across social media and email campaigns.

Support digital marketing efforts

  • Continuously feed our digital marketing campaigns with fresh content.
  • Create ads on Facebook, Instagram, and other digital platforms.
  • Support our page authority and backlink strategies.

You’ll need to have this

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • A portfolio of writing samples that proves you can stitch together ideas into a logical and coherent piece.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Solid knowledge of on-page SEO.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and/or G Suite.
  • Solid knowledge of popular social media platforms.

It would be great if you had this

  • Proven experience increasing search traffic and blog revenue.
  • At least one year of experience with Facebook Ad Manager.
  • Proficient with Photoshop, Canva, or similar photo editing software.
  • HTML and CSS skills.

  • This is a full-time permanent position
  • This position is 100% WFH (work from home)

  • Regular work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
  • Your home-based work environment must have internet connectivity with a minimum of 100MB download speed
  • Must consent to and pass a background check

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34,000.00 per year
