Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is looking for Per-diem Speech-Language Pathologists in Garden City and surrounding areas to service seniors in their homes. You can choose your areas to work in (please list in cover letter or response)! Qualified candidates must be able to provide at least (2) work days to see patients during the day-time hours before 6pm. This is the perfect opportunity for therapists who want to earn extra money, other time commitments, or those who are tired of dealing with productivity standards and lengthy notes of a home care agency.
Metro offers a comprehensive and competitive pay-per-visit compensation. We pay $55-$60/visit. We are NOT a home health agency and there are NO lengthy OASIS forms. In this role, “you” will be able schedule home visits according to your availability.
Our flexible work schedule allows you to make your own hours including weekends and evenings. Pick up additional cases before or after work in areas that are close to home or work. Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one treatment in a home care setting.
- Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of speech/language & dysphagia therapy to maintain, improve or restore functioning and improve quality of life
- Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
- Develop and guide plans of care which encourage compliance and produce the best results for your patients.
- Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- NYS License or eligible.
- Evaluates a patient’s need for speech therapy and develops an appropriate treatment plan.
- Experience with adults & dysphagia
- Provide appropriate care and treatment to patients based on physician care plan, agency policy and professional standards of care.
- Instructs family members, nursing staff, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate therapy techniques.
