This is an advanced level position that performs all entry and intermediate job functions in the Health Information Management Department. A qualified candidate is expected to work closely with providers to effectively manage record completion to meet The Joint Commission delinquency standards. Accurately perform the verification process required for clinical pertinence report out. Partners with the Identity team to resolve duplicate and unlinked medical record numbers in the electronic health record. Supports ROI by answering phones and/or faxes and process walk-in continuation of care request as appropriate. The Tech III applicant is also required to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information and adhere to the policies that govern the Health Information Management department. What You Bring/Job Requirements In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:. 2 years of HIM or related experience working in an electronic health record OR completion of an HIM accredited program.. Proficient in medical terminology required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office application and troubleshooting computer required. Demonstrate advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and troubleshooting computer problems.. High School Diploma or GED, required.. Associates degree, preferred. Enrolled in healthcare related field, preferred.. RHIT or RHIA certification, preferred.
