Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor – Orion Laboratories – Lake Charles, LA

Orion Laboratories is looking for a PART-TIME Phelbotomist in the Lake Charles area.

Our Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor represents the face of our company to patients and clients. The primary responsibilities include the daily preparation of patient specimens, drawing blood, data entry of test orders, presort, pickup and the delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills in interacting with the client, sales team and other functions within the organization. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, a rehabilitation center, long term care or as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities:

* Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients

* Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis

* Monitor inventory samples and supplies

* Maintain a clean work environment

* Package specimens for transport

* Checks for accuracy and records all items processed

Previous experience is required. National and State (Louisiana) phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 – $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
