Job Description Summary:

This position has responsibility for overseeing the accuracy and assembly of surgical instruments, implant trays, specials, single items, and any other surgical instrument tray used in preparation and delivery of all surgeries. This includes all operating rooms, labor & delivery, clinics, hospital units, and any other department where SPD services are required to provide sterile instruments. This position is responsible for aiding in the education of associates on new skills and onboarding new hires into the department. This includes training in accordance to Standard Work processes to ensure system wide compliance in the preparation and delivery of surgical instruments.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School or GED (Required)IAHCSMM – International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material management – International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management
Skilled position, requiring more knowledge, critical thinking, and communication skills to provide improved services. Excellent Computer Skills and ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills and to work in in high pressure situations. Knowledge of surgical procedures, knowledge of sterilization standards and sterile processing technique. Certified Surgical Tech; Ortho, Neuro, and/or Endo knowledge.
