Groundskeeper – Bella Sol Apartments – Sarasota, Florida

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the grounds, picking up trash and performing other tasks assigned by the Community Manager/Administrator. A working knowledge of general grounds care and some light maintenance or janitorial work is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Establishing and executing a regular preventative maintenance schedule concerning the grounds. Keeping the lawn watered as needed. Fertilizing and seeding the lawn as needed. Mowing the grass, raking, weed eating, edging and trimming the shrubs and trees. Weeding all flower and shrubbery beds as needed. Planting flowers and shrubs as needed.
• All public areas, sidewalks and streets must be swept weekly or as needed and kept free of trash and debris at all times.
• Picking up any trash observed on the property while performing normal duties.
• Clean dumpster area twice per day and hose down at least once per week or as needed.
• Removing trash and cleaning the laundry room and all machines on a daily basis, if necessary.
• Ensuring that residents are provided a clean, well-maintained community.
• Reporting all damage or needed repairs to the Community Manager/Administrator.
• Maintaining equipment in proper condition.
• Maintain an inventory of frequently used parts, materials and supplies.
• Performing the exterior maintenance, including the lighting, gutters, downspouts, roofs and flashing, walks, laundry facilities, recreation areas, buildings and grounds if instructed.
• Assisting the Maintenance Person with light maintenance and/or filling in for the Maintenance Person when necessary.
• Cleaning the office, clubhouse, other common areas and the interior of any apartments if necessary.
• Must submit to pre-employment drug test and extensive background check.
