LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse – Good Shepherd Lutheran Community – Tekamah, NE

Primary Function:

Incumbent works under the direction of the Registered nurse or designee and in compliance with state statutes and regulations governing the practice of nursing. Provides supervision and monitoring of medication aides and nursing assistants. Incumbent provides direct hands on care to meet resident need in accordance with standard of nursing practice, policy/procedures and physician orders.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:

Helps plan, coordinate and provide nursing care to skilled nursing and long-term care residents. Administers medications and treatments and provides direction and monitoring of medication aides. Provides resident teaching and works closely with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current nursing license from the State of Nebraska or a compact state recognized by the Nebraska Board of Nursing at the time of hire and maintain the license in good standing throughout the course of employment.

Must be certified in basic life support/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or complete certification within the first month of employment. Must maintain certification throughout employment.

Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment preferred.

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.

Overview of Physical Demands:

Work is typically indoors in a healthcare environment. Noise level is usually moderate, but may on occasion be loud

Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds. Physical abilities include extended periods of walking/standing and the ability to kneel, crouch and bend.

Must be able to deal with multiple interruptions. Work may be stressful when faced with multiple demands.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $21.10 – $25.77 per hour
