Full-time medical billing and coding specialist needed for an Orthopedic ambulatory surgery center. Duties will include preparing and entering charges, posting patient payments, and insurance aging as well as answering questions from patients, staff and insurance companies. Must have knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT codes. Orthopedic experience is required.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in ASC coding and insurance billing required
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 coding, coding for Orthopedics required.
- Medical terminology
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience filing claim appeals with payors to ensure maximum entitled reimbursement
- Knowledge of insurance carrier coding requirements to ensure proper coding
- Strong computer skills in Word and Excel
- Knowledge of third party billing procedures across a variety of payor systems.
Knowledge of strategic appeals, negotiations and settlements, Letters of Protection
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Coding Certification
