RefuahHealth, an outpatient community health center, seeks dental assistant to join our established dental team. If you are organized, detail oriented, have superb interpersonal skills and are a team player, we want you!

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares exam rooms for planned procedure
  • Stocks, prepares and maintains dental instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares dental materials, composites, amalgams, cements, impression materials, etc. as needed and instructed by dentist
  • Maintains a sterile and neat working environment according to current infection control procedures
  • Reviews the health history, makes chart entries per protocol and assures completion of forms and signatures as appropriate
  • Reviews the pre-op informed consent form and post-op instructions as appropriate with the patient prior to surgical procedure
  • Greets and identifies patient and escorts to the operatory
  • Properly drapes the patient while in the chair and familiarizes the patient with the aspects of their dental visit
  • Takes the appropriate radiographs that are of usable quality under the dentist’s instruction
  • Makes patient feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
  • Assists the dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directed by the dentist

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • NYS Dental assistant certification preferred but not required

Experience:

  • rda: 1 year (Preferred)
  • dental assistant: 1 year (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License:

  • X-ray (Preferred)

Duties:

  • Assisting chair-side
  • Taking records, impressions, or x-rays
  • Using computers to update electronic patient records
  • Assisting with lab tasks as needed
