Job Description

Job Summary

The Program and Operations Director oversees the development, implementation, oversight, and strategic growth of IF Project programming as well as overseeing administration and human resources. The Director will work closely with the Executive Director including strategy and the development of financial resource to support prioritized areas of work.

The position will work to develop team based approaches, recognize and create effective uses of staff capacity, and promote shared accountability through effective management.

The position will also be responsible for service as an effective representative regionally and nationally and establishing and maintaining partnerships to advance the IF Project mission as appropriate.

Program Development, Direction, and Management:

· Develop working knowledge of the history and tradition of the IF Project.

· Assist the Executive Director in examining, developing, implementing, documenting and communication the goals, priorities and values of the If Project and its programming.

· Develop effective direct programmatic activities to ensure methodology is sound and the IF Project is positioned to be a leader regionally and nationally.

· Experience in program creation and evaluation as well as a high level of knowledge and understanding especially as it relates to replication, connecting programs to funding, creatively generating other resources, and building strategic partnerships.

· Serve as senior leader for content, program design, evaluation, and dissemination across all programs.

· Monitor scopes of work and interact with programming staff to ensure timeliness, quality and accuracy of activities vis-a-vis contractual and grant commitments as well as mission and value including reporting.

· Seek and develop new funding relationships and write proposals as needed by Executive Director

· Ensure programmatic excellence through development and implementation of innovative performance and outcomes measures.

· Ensure and direct the development of regular and timely programmatic updates across all programs to ensure knowledge-building and resource sharing.

· Facilitate small and large group meetings as needed.

· Ensure that innovations and best practices are incorporated into IF Project programmatic activities. Monitor national initiatives to stay informed about policies and changes in criminal justice reform.

· Lead the collaborative development of survey, monitoring, and evaluation tools.

· Develop strategic long-term program expansion goals and budgets with Executive Director

· Maintain and cultivate partnerships with other organizations to expand services to clients as well as our reach within the community.

Administration and Finance

· Draft budget for annual expenditures in consultation with Executive Director esp regarding programming and current grant funded projects

· Maintain up to date versions of important corporate documents as required by law

· Ensure efficiently organized to comply with human resource processes and requirements, in accordance with legal and internal policies.

· Aid in the formation and implementation of standard operating procedures and personnel policies taking into account state and federal changes in personnel administration

· Maintain personnel job descriptions, employee handbooks/manual and employment policies

· Create on boarding and orientation process for new staff

· Provide supervision, support, coaching and training for staff

· Direct continuous learning for IF Project staff while promoting and fostering an environment in which proactive thinking and creativity are encouraged.

· Work with Executive Director to identify capacities needed to achieve goals and work with staff to ensure those capacities.

· Creation of policies and procedures for the organization

· Participate in yearly performance assessment of staff, goal setting and support professional development on an ongoing basis.

Strategic/Thought Leadership:

· Build cross-sector relationships and work opportunities that integrate with activities within such sectors as medical care, community and economic development, financial services, housing, justice, corrections, and others.

· Work with Executive Director to engage in national, state, and local level relationship building to increase the IF Project’s visibility and ensure strategic, programmatic, and organizational growth.

· Participate in activities to inform and lead the organizations strategies and approaches

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

· A minimum 5 years working experience in a similar role.

· Must have experience with case management and an understanding of best practices in the field.

· Work well with people in various communities, institutional and governmental organizations.

· Ability to motivate, develop and direct people as they work identifying the best people for the job

· Cultural competency to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds

· Working experience in program development geared towards underserved populations and those affected by the criminal justice system

· Ability to develop relationships with other organizations, contractors, and needed partners

· Experience in meeting facilitation and or community relations

· Ability to work independently, be flexible and manage multiple priorities

· Some knowledge of the criminal justice system

· Proficient computer skills

· Detail oriented with excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and writing skills

· Strong budget management skills

· Self-Motivated and able to balance multiple and competing priorities or deadlines, excellent organizational skills, and ability to track multiple projects/programs tasks as delegated to program staff.

· Experience in grant oversight

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
