We are an AAHA accredited practice looking for an experienced full-time veterinary nurse/technician to join our team. We are a full service hospital offering general and emergency pet care, surgery, dentistry, boarding, and grooming. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
–prepare, present, and explain treatment plans
–restrain pets for preventative care and treatment
–prepare and administer vaccines and other injections
–collect fecal/ear/blood samples and analyze
–enter laboratory results and detailed medical notes using computerized practice management software
–perform in house imaging including digital radiographs, dental radiographs, and ultrasound
–perform laser therapy sessions
–place IV catheters
–perform jugular and saphenous blood draws
–prepare pets for surgery and monitor anesthesia
–perform dental cleanings on anesthetized pets
–prepare surgical packs
–care for hospitalized patients
–medical record notation and maintenance
–maintain maintenance logs
–OSHA awareness and compliance
–educate clients on various aspects of pet healthcare
–daily cleaning duties
–help out in boarding, kennels and reception as needed
–thoroughly record conversations with clients including all recommendations, declined
recommendations or treatments
–maintain all surgical equipment, surgery packs, surgical inventory, cold trays and the surgery prep
room and surgery suite.
Working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM with alternating kennel rotations weekend. Holiday work is required.
