PT Caregiver For 18-Year-Old Autistic Boy (Kirkland-Houghton)

Looking for a part-time, after-school caregiver for our 18-year-old autistic son. He is sweet, funny and non-verbal but uses a communication device effectively. Duties will include getting him off the bus, helping him with his after-school routine, participating in his therapy, getting out in the community, keeping home picked up, some light meal preparation and some laundry (as part of his “life-skills” tasks). Some bathroom help is also req’d.

1-2 or more years experience as a nanny/caregiver ideal but willing to train. Experience with autism is a huge plus however not a requirement for the right person. If you are energetic, patient, a creative problem solver, organized, take initiative then you have the right skills. Someone who likes do things like going bowling, library, hiking, etc is ideal.

I am looking for someone who wants a long term position of a year or more. You must have a car and cell phone and be comfortable working with therapy staff.
