Pharmacy Technician – certified or eligible (Arden)

Position Title: Certified Pharmacy Technician – Bilingual (Fluent in English and Spanish)

Description: A Certified Pharmacy Technician is a knowledgeable member of the company staff who helps the pharmacist provide medication and other health care products to patients and consumers and provides our patients with the information and services they need in a respectful and timely manner. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will also present themself in a reputable fashion, as they are an active testament to our company’s character.

Responsible To: Pharmacist in Charge / Regional Business Manager – Healthcare

Required Qualifications/Experience: Certified Pharmacy Technician nationally certified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board with a minimum of one year as a Pharmacy Technician. Bilingual in English and Spanish

Classification: Non-Exempt – Full Time

Responsibilities/Duties: The duties of a Certified Pharmacy Technician are based on state law guidelines and may include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Entering prescriptions into computer database
2) Dispensing medications/prescriptions
3) Working with insurance companies
4) Contacting referring physicians’ offices with questions over prescription
5) Maintaining inventory; including responsibility for executing monthly inventory
6) Notify Manager if there is a need to re-order any products or supplies to maintain seamless functionality of the shipping process
7) Fulfilling shipping requests in an accurate and timely fashion.
8) Processing incoming shipment of products and supplies.
9) Answering telephones when appropriate and within legal guidelines and directing calls to appropriate personnel
10) Inspecting medications for outdates and doing QA checks; including responsibility for monthly out of datlog
11) Checking orders, processing invoices, credits and backorders. Restocking medication on the shelves as needed and, if needed, purchasing medication from suppliers
12) Maintaining assigned work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition
13) Following all Federal and State laws, rules, and regulations
14) Keeping registration and certification current
15) Maintaining completed RX files
16) Moving completed RX packages through the mailing process
17) Undertaking all duties assigned to benefit the operation of the company unless proper certification or licensure is required.
