About the position:
The Direct Support Professionals help people make the leap to independence by assisting them as they explore their community and employment opportunities through new and exciting experiences. We have immediate openings for Direct Support Professionals in our all our program areas:
Vocational Training – The training center duplicates a workplace environment, preparing participants for off-site employment. Mon-Fri 8:15-4:14 FT and 9:30am-3:30pm PT facility based + community based.
Cultural Arts – Our goal is to bring a love and understanding of the arts to people with disabilities.
Mon-Fri 8:15-4:14 FT and 9:30am-3:30pm PT facility based + community based.
In-Home and Community – Home and Community-Based Services provides assistance for people to achieve a more independent quality of life by providing access to their community in an exciting new way. PT only + per diem/pool opportunity (1:1) ratio, community based program (must be available nights and weekends)
Duties/Responsibilites include but are not limited to:
• Safely transporting and accompanying participants on community outings to cultural venues
• Actively engaging participants in the program’s art and educational classes and activities
• Provide support including but not limited to feeding, bathroom support and general personal support.
• Maintain and document progress notes.
• Encourage and motivate participants to fully engage in new experiences and accomplish personal goals.
Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Clear criminal record, child abuse history, medical & drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license a plus but not required.
