Traveling Mechanical Foreman – EMIT, Inc. – Charleston, WV

$22 – $28 an hour

Requirements:

  • As a Traveling Mechanical Foreman you must have the willingness to travel 100% for work within the United States.
  • Minimum 3+ years of foreman experience in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in conveyor system layout, component pre-assembly, header steel installation, platform and structural steel erection, conveyor installation, guard rail, rack, air piping (aluminum, copper, black iron), detailing and run-in of installed equipment.
  • Read and comprehend mechanical blue prints.
  • Validate installed equipment against layouts and scope documentation/drawings as a foreman.
  • OSHA 30 General & Construction certified.
  • Welding certifications preferred.
  • Be certified to run equipment such as personnel lifts and all terrain fork lifts.
  • Knowledge of proper rigging techniques to lift steel efficiency and safely.
  • Knowledge of proper crane signals to safely maneuver steel on site.
  • Some computer experience; basic emailing, spreadsheet input (Excel).

Responsibilities:

  • As a Traveling Mechanical Foreman you must monitor site progress against schedule.
  • Finalize the in-house testing and final system acceptance test plan.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of inventory on site and report any discrepancies.
  • Monitor installation quality and coordinate to resolve any items or issues.
  • Maintain overall system punch list and track completion of all items.
  • Coordinate site demobilization, including excess material disposal and overall site cleanup.

Communication with Customers:

  • As a Traveling Mechanical Foreman you must become the direct on site Customer liaison.
  • Attend site coordination meetings as required.
  • Insure that final punch list is complete, and signoff is received from the Customer.
  • Conduct the formal Customer turnover and warranty activity.

Communication with Subcontractors:

  • As a Traveling Mechanical Foreman you must become the direct on site Subcontractor liaison.
  • Ability to help lead less experienced locally hired personnel.
  • Manage and monitor progress of Subcontractors at site.
  • Responsible for recording the personnel’s working hours.
