The Research Team Lead works closely with and reports to the Director of Research and Development. This is a leadership role that oversees the day to day activities and coordination of research associates and intern training. This role assists with the day to day activities of the research associates to assure alignment with the Amen Clinics philosophy, practice methods and standards of excellence, they assist in all aspects of clinical trial activity and other research-related projects. The Research Team Lead works in a collaborative fashion through open communication, the giving and gaining of trust, and participating as an active member of the team in an environment of mutual respect.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the day to day activities of the research associates to assure alignment with the Amen Clinics philosophy, practice methods and standards of excellence
  • Assisting in all aspects of clinical trial activity and other research-related projects
  • Contribute to the development of the department’s annual goals
  • Assist in research design ideas, data cleaning, coding and analysis
  • Conduct thorough and focused literature reviews
  • Work closely with the Change Your Brain, Change your Life Foundation
  • Assist in grant writing for the research department and foundation
  • Oversee the training of newly hired associates and interns, and ensure quality of productivity alongside the Quality Control Officer
  • Organizing research huddles, updating Confluence, note-taking, admin and coordinating staff as directed
  • Collaborate with the marketing department as appropriate
  • Ensuring patient information remains confidential and protected
  • Coordinate detailed record keeping and summarization of department and project meetings using Confluence
  • Promote unity and positive, professional relationships with those with all department members
  • Adaptive to changing priorities and demands of the department and company
  • Contribute to projects as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience as a research associate essential
  • Must have a solid understanding of psychological and/or clinical research methods and a proven ability to understand the logistics of research activity and timeline of projects
  • Experience of grant writing, writing manuscripts for publication, literature reviews, project-managements of trial activity, data-collection, data-analysis, research methods and psychometric tools
  • Proven leadership experience managing research project(s) or equivalent
  • Excellent organized approach to work
  • Superlative communication skills required
  • The ability to contribute creatively, problem-solve, multitask, prioritize and lead

Knowledge and Skills and abilities:

  • Research management experience
  • Clinical trial experience desirable and working on research projects independently and/or in a team
  • Higher education in psychology, nutritional health, or related field
  • Ability to positively lead and direct research associates
  • Experience with managing large data sets, including but not limited to data cleaning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Flexible approach
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent communicator, proficient, and reliable
