Medical Assistant – Credential (PHCVI Wormleysburg Phys Office) – UPMC Pinnacle – Wormleysburg, PA

Job Summary: The Medical Assistant assists the Provider in areas of clinical responsibility, including but not limited to, patient care and office flow, Point of Care lab testing, laboratory functions, clinical and front office procedures, patient centered medical home activities and customer service activities to ensure the highest quality patient care and patient experience.

Job Requirements: High school diploma or general equivalent (GED). Graduate of an approved program of Medical Assisting or has current advanced clinical licensure or a recent/scheduled graduate of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces. Currently credentialed as either as a Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (AMT), or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA). Maintains certification as Medical Assistant through the individual certification body. Maintains BLS certification. Current CPR for Health Care Providers. Completes the Clinical and EMR competencies annually. Completes Point of Care testing competencies as required by PinnacleHealth Policies. Demonstrates knowledge of and applies the Patient Centered Medical Home process, interpersonal relationship skills and group culture principles. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; basic computer skills and the ability to work independently. Collaborates with multiple health care Providers and agencies.
