Lead Child and Family Facilitator (San Diego)

Do you want to be a part of making the community a better place for our children and families?Then come join our Child and Family Team Facilitation program at Fred Finch Youth Center!!!The Child and Family Team Meeting Facilitation Program will be scheduling, organizing and facilitating CFT meetings while closely collaborating and coordinating with all pertinent people in the youth and family’s life: CWS Worker, Probation Office, BHS provider (i.e. TBS worker, therapist, Wraparound Staff, psychiatrist), identified educational supports, and natural supports (e.g. a neighbor, coach, church leader who is particularly involved). The CFT Meeting Facilitation program will create a culturally relevant and individualized plan for the youth and family to help them meet their behavioral, CWS and/or Probation goals.

The Company: Fred Finch Youth Center has been serving children and young adults with mental and intellectual disabilities for more than a century.

The Position: Full-time, Lead Child and Family Facilitator position in either our North San Diego County or Central San Diego location. This position is exempt/salaried.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:Under the direction of the Program Manager the Lead Child and Family Team Facilitator (Lead CFT Facilitator) is responsible for supervision and oversight of all CFT meeting facilitation, including CFT plan development and distribution, program and resource development and management, personnel management including hiring, evaluation, coaching and training. Under the direction of the CFT Facilitation Program Manager, the Lead CFT Facilitator supervises, trains and assists the CFT Facilitators under their direction to develops an individualized plan to meet the goals of the youth and family. The plan should be designed to capitalize on the strengths of assigned families while insuring coordination of both professionally based and community-based supports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. B.A. Degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory/management experience in a child welfare, probation or behavioral health setting required; relevant leadership experience may be considered.
  3. Three (3) years of experience as a facilitator working with diverse groups, including youth, parents, substitute care providers, child welfare or probation department staff, mental health providers and community based organizations.
  4. Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and/or competency with electronic clinical documentation systems.
  5. Clean driving record; current CA Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 10 days after hired.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse families and communities.
  7. Must be able to meet background clearance as part of conditions of employment
