Collection Specialist (Austin)

Summary
Responsible for dental and some medical collections of patient accounts receivables, and reconciliation for the dental group. May include occasional insurance AR.

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Effectively manage patient accounts through proper collection procedures.
• Place calls to patients with past due balances in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer
relations.
• Process collections letters and notate accounts accordingly.
• Accurately report delinquent accounts to the collections agency
• Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss them with management.
• Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPPA laws and guidelines with regards to patient’s records.
• Follow and demonstrate commitment to the Rose Dental Group policies, professional expectations, service
excellence standards, and collection laws.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Dental and Medical insurance experience preferred.
• Accounting and Collections experience required.
• Minimum of two years of collections experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to manage multiple activities with minimal direction, while relying on experience and judgment to plan
and accomplish goals.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong basic math skills with the ability to reconcile patient accounts.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete work with high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills; demonstrate a professional approach in dealing with patients and insurance
companies.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Prefer experience with dental software such as Dentrix.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer, calculator, phone, copier/scanner, and fax
machine.
