Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The clinical activation planner is responsible for managing facility activation, transition and move planning of clinical space within the Houston Methodist Hospital System, under the direction of the Clinical Planning and Design Director. The position is the liaison between the Hospital client department, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and others. Must be able to manage several projects simultaneously, and be familiar with healthcare facility design and construction processes.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

PEOPLE – 25 %

  1. Serves as chief coordinator of the clinical move activities (EF)
  2. Collaborates with medical equipment planners and Biomed on medical equipment installations and inspections. (EF)
  3. Manages and monitors progress of move to identify and improve methods of delivery within the departments (EF)
  4. Coordinates owner furnished Contractor installed items and equipment with Construction Management team. (EF)

SERVICE – 25%

  1. Oversees the installation of new and reused equipment, furniture, art, signage, etc. Responds promptly to internal and external customer requests. (EF)
  2. Assists in planning of furniture, art, equipment, telecommunications and Information technology for assigned projects. (EF)
  3. Actively participates in the schematic and design planning phases of capital projects(EF)
  4. Assists in development of and manages move schedule for facility occupancy(EF)

QUALITY/SAFETY – 25%

  1. Coordinates and monitors required actions, including those for clinical regulatory approvals to assure occupancy readiness.(EF)
  2. Maintains and achieves the highest standards of quality, delivery of care and service.(EF)
  3. Demonstrates knowledge and behaviors related to environmental, employee, or patient safety requirements.(EF)

FINANCE – 15%

  1. Utilizes department resources/supplies efficiently.(EF)
  2. Manages time effectively to meet established timelines.(EF)

GROWTH/INNOVATION – 10%

  1. Generates and communicates new ideas and suggestions that improve quality, safety or service(EF)
  2. Displays initiative to improve skills relative to job function.(EF)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or related healthcare field required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10 years of clinical experience in a health care setting.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

  • Licenses as it relates to education requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  1. Strong analytical skills to develop and manage construction projects and resolve problems.
  2. The job requires significant autonomous decision making. Assignments are received in the form of results expected, must use judgment when choosing the appropriate procedures for the project team to follow.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills for management meetings and preparation of plans and reports.
  4. A high level of interpersonal skills is required to develop relationships with colleagues and clients, gain the cooperation of others and communicate effectively.
