Area Sales Manager – New System Laundry LLC – Portland, OR

New System exists to enhance the customers’ image while creating a legacy of quality and integrity. This family owned and operated, growth minded, passionate, innovative Northwest linen company, is seeking an Area Sales Manager to oversee new sales growth, development of Sales Representatives and sales volume for the assigned area either directly or through subordinates.


  • Trains and develops area Sales Representatives to meet minimum quarterly goals as established by the Director of Sales.
  • Ride with Sales Reps on daily basis (cold calling, presentations, deal closings)
  • Train and ensure accurate completion of documents submitted to the office
  • Train and ensure accurate use of Salesforce
  • Conducts quarterly performance reviews with area Sales Representatives.
  • Maintains and develops existing customer relationships in assigned area.
  • Identifies and maintains activity with area industry and business networking groups
  • Coaches and motivates sales staff towards success.


  • Tracks sales activity for area Sales Reps and area Customer Service Representative(s).
  • Generates new sales business to meet minimum weekly, monthly and quarterly goals as established by the director of sales
  • Collaborates with Director of Sales in the development of new growth initiatives, product lines and services.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance. High dedication to job and team success.
  • Maintains acceptable driving record with minimal to no moving violations or accidents.
  • Maintains professional personal appearance in accordance with New System standards.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. Earns trust as a positive team player with high level of integrity.
  • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.


Directly supervises 2-6 employees in the area specific Sales Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of management experience.
