Veterinary Technician Supervisor (berkeley)

Berkeley Dog and Cat Hospital currently has a full time career opportunity available for an experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor.

We are a 17-doctor practice, open 24-hours a day. We need your enthusiasm, honesty, positive attitude, and leadership skills for a busy General Practice and Specialty Hospital.

Our ideal candidate is professional, able to work in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication skills and is able to lead the team to give the best customer service and patient care possible.

Candidate must be a Registered Veterinary Technician with 5 years practice experience, and have a minimum of 2 years management experience. Candidate must be proficient and prepared for the following responsibilities.
•Manage technical support staff
•Completing interviews and hiring process
•Staff performance and salary reviews
•Disciplinary conversations
•Training of staff
•Scheduling and maintaining workplace efficiency
•Assign job responsibilities
•Monitor employee competence
•Oversee process of patient admission, hospitalization and discharge
•Responsible for administering and/or delegating veterinarian’s medical orders
•Mentor staff in nursing care, radiology, anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, laboratory and pharmacy
•Ensure that all patients’ medical and surgical records are complete and accurate
•Assist and participate in weekly and monthly meetings
•Participate in creating, implementing and monitoring management decisions

As a 24 hour practice, the schedule of the supervisor may have some variability, in order for you to be familiar with all staff members, and understand the needs of the practice at different times.
