Responsibilities Position Summary: The position requires independent, critical thinking. The ability to communicate a respiratory assessment to Physicians and other Allied Health Professionals is critical in performing the duties as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. The RCP may be required to work independently and will be required to triage patient care. May access medication storage areas in accordance with their job function and hospital policy. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:. Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) required Preferred Qualifications:. Two-year degree. Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred. Five years of experience in direct and indirect respiratory care services, including (but not limited to) the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement a treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative or diagnostic regimen prescribed by a physician and surgeon
