Registered Dental Hygienist/Dental Assistants (Midtown East)

Global Employment Solutions has multiple contract opportunities for Dental Hygienist-Registered and Dental Assistants for PCORI Research Program at NYC Public Schools. The Registered DH & DA’s must commit to the following: This role REQUIRES TRAVEL to the Bronx and the day may start as early as 7am. This is to allow the team adequate time to set up at the schools before seeing the patients/children. The program starts in the middle of January 2019 and the assignment will be for 1-2 months.
Dental Assistants—-
Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dental hygienist and practitioners in New York City public schools for the PCORI research program. Instruct dental students and dental assistant students in techniques and utilization of four-handed dentistry and infection control. Perform tests; assist with preparing dental castings, dispensing medications and instructions, and performing minor dental and surgical procedures; ensure safe use, disposal, and storage of chemicals or hazardous materials. Maintain patient files and charts. Serve as clinic receptionist and clinic cashier.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education: Certification as a Dental Assistant. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of four-handed chairside dental techniques and dental lab equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Registered Dental Hygienists
Provide therapeutic dental services that support promotion of good oral health; perform preliminary oral examinations and prophylactic treatments; gather and record new patient information; take intra-oral, digital and traditional radiographs, and provide information to patients on their health status to help them develop and maintain good oral health. Treatment will be provided to children located in New York City public schools.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Required Experience: 1 year experience as a Dental Hygienist OR 6 months to one year of supervised Clinical Dental Hygiene practice in an accredited Dental Hygiene Program. Valid NYS Dental Hygiene license. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent patient relationship skills, ability to communicate effectively with a diverse client population.
