LPN PD

THIS POSITION IS FOR URGENT CARE, PRIMARY CARE AND EMPLOYEE HEALTH & OCCMED. Assists in providing and coordinating nursing care and managing resources in the delivery of care for patients, the family of patients and the community, with the goal of attaining, maintaining and restoring optimum health. Communicates with Registered Nurse and care team to assist with clinical planning and care of patients.

1.Education and Training
*Graduate of a school of practical nursing and current license to practice practical nursing in the State of Ohio.
*Authorized by the State of Ohio Board of Nursing to perform intravenous therapy procedures and administer medicines.

2.Experience
*Two years of related LPN experience required.
*Two years of experience may be waived if other previous patient experience applies.
*Experience in Urgent/Occupational Medicine settings preferred.
*Per diem LPN’s must have at least one year recent experience in the area of practice.

3.Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
*Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
*Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
*Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
*Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
*Requires exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing gradiation and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment, such as risk of falls, strains, etc.
*Current Basic Life Support certification required.

4.Physical Requirements
-Requires full range of body motion which may include handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
-Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
-Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
-May require exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment, such as risk of falls, strains, etc.

5.Population Specific Competency
The incumbent will have the ability to effectively interact with populations of the patient (and his or her representative) with a sensitivity to the communication needs (other language, deaf or blind) and with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
