Chief Medical Officer, Strategy and Partnerships – Philips – Home Based

Job Title

Chief Medical Officer, Strategy and Partnerships

Job Description

Chief Medical Officer, Strategy and Partnerships

There is always a way to make life better. Health and disease do not know bounds and so should healthcare. Philips makes life of patients and healthcare providers better by delivering seamless care with smart products, software and services, integrated in end-to-end solutions. We are conscious that the current organization, delivery and reimbursement of healthcare is unsustainable. Healthcare delivery needs to change from a fee-for-service system taking care of the sick, to a value-based system focused on better outcomes for the individual and the population, improved patient experience, lower costs, and a more satisfied workforce. These goals are brought together in the Quadruple Aim, the actionable model of value-based care.

Philips is transforming in parallel. We are a medical technology company, passionate to play a role in this healthcare transformation journey. We serve consumers and patients along the health continuum: living a healthy live, prevention of disease, first-time-right diagnosis, image-guided treatment and home care and monitoring. Growing our clinical capabilities, insights, knowledge and experience is part of this transformation.

You will act as an inspiring leader for clinical innovation, clinical strategy and medical affairs activities of the company. This entails working closely and collaboratively with business, research and functional leaders across the organization, advising on clinical trends, on changes in the healthcare organization and reimbursement landscape, and engaging with clinical leaders in the professional community to acquire deep insights in their unmet needs that can be translated into the Philips innovation roadmap. Your clinical insights will inform our organic growth plans as well as inorganic growth opportunities. You will represent Philips in dialogues with possible partners, and you will use your professional network and knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem to search for new opportunities. Your primary focus will be the US market, where you will work closely with businesses and the NA market organization to develop, lead and nurture relationships with our luminary clinical partners, academic institutions and regulatory agencies. You will have oversight and provide direction for research initiatives in our priority areas, in particular cardiology and imaging. You will collaborate with the Philips CTO, Design and Strategy/Merger and Acquisition/Partnership functions. You will work closely with the Clinical and Medical Affairs teams, the Market Access and Reimbursement teams, and the NA market to drive adoption and preference for Philips solutions after market introduction.

As Chief Medical Officer, Strategy and Partnerships, you will be a key member of the CMO leadership team and will report to the Chief Medical Officer of Philips.

You are passionate to develop the medical capabilities in Philips and ambitious to make it a success. You like to work in functional teams, to inspire colleagues. Your way of working is teaming up to win. You put our customers first, and quality is on your mind always. You maintain a positive relationship with the broader medical as well as business community in Philips to share best practices. You develop strategies using your clinical expertise and join efforts with your team members, to deliver results on time, with high quality, and maximum effect.

You are based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
