Business Development Manager/Senior Manager – MedThink Communications – Cary, NC

Position Summary:

What Were Looking For

The Business Development Manager/Senior Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery of the new business forecast for MedThink. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the pitch, proposal and capability presentation processes for MedThink SciCom and MedThink Communications, as well as contributing to the identification and outreach to potential new partners. This position will report to the SVP of Client Engagement and will serve as a vital member of the agencys Business Development Team.

What Youll Do

The Business Development Manager/Senior Manager will direct divisional efforts to ensure the efficient development of our highest-quality deliverable for pitches, proposals and capability presentations in support of the agencys overall business goals. In this role, youll:


  • Participate in the development of divisional business development annual plans and budget
  • Contribute to the new business team monthly meetings


  • Develop and maintain list of potential new partners
  • Conduct outreach to potential new partners


  • Lead all RFI, RFP and pitch efforts and facilitate brainstorming sessions
  • Contribute content to capability, proposal and pitch deliverables
  • Manage the presentation experience and own the run of show for all presentations
  • Manage the department budget

CRM Tool

  • Own reporting structure of CRM outputs, and the presentation of status to leadership team

Your Experience:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in the marketing, communications or science-related field
  • Manager (3-5 years); Senior Manager (5-7 years) of pharmaceutical agency (promotional medical education, scientific/medical communications and/or agency) experience
  • Previous business development experience or account services with a proven track record of acquiring new accounts
