RN Manager, Clinical Services

The RN Manager of Clinical Operations for Internal Medicine will have responsibility for the clinical staffing operations of assigned UHA/MMC department(s) including operations, finance, human resources, and employee engagement activities. The Manager of Clinical Operations will work closely with the Director of Clinical Operations, providers and the leadership team to implement practice goals, and the UHA/MMC mission, vision.

Management Duties Manages staff, including selection, training and development, performance management, recognition, discipline and termination. Supports all team members, including providers, in achieving performance expectations and standards. Develops standard staffing structure to ensure consistent clinic operations. Coaches, mentors and motivates staff to work in a collaborative and efficient manner to meet the department goals. Ensures ongoing compliance and adherence to UHA policy/procedure and oversees staff to maintain clinical standards and practice, in accordance with regulatory agencies and quality policies. Operations Management Manages the daily operations of clinical practice teams to support/facilitate coordination of workflow and assure optimal delivery of safe, appropriate, accessible care and service. Collaborates and ensures effective communication with leadership and providers to align operations and implements/monitors initiatives, workflow, and quality and process improvements. Provides direction to department(s) staff which may include supervisors, clinical and clerical support staff. Promotes C-I-Care for structuring best practice communications and developing relationship-based care approaches with patients, families, and colleagues. Supports a culture of excellent service and communication to promote staff engagement and assure a safe, productive, and supportive work environment of all staff. Responds to patient concerns and interfaces with QA department as needed.

Financial Stewardship In collaboration with leadership and providers, makes operational adjustments as needed to manage financial and resources allocated. Develops and implements strategies to contribute to budget development, and ongoing management of department budget to align with strategic goals to optimize affordability of service. Identifies care-related capital needs and oversees background research for requests. Actively involved with project management, space planning, maintenance of the department, procurement of supplies and contracted services. Coordination & Collaboration Works closely with the providers and leadership, to facilitate communication to assure practice needs are provided.
b. Actively and constructively participate in UHA Leadership Teams and other interdepartmental meetings to assure smooth workflow across departments. All other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities): Performs other duties as assigned and participates in organization projects as assigned.
