Moog Space & Defense Group in Galax, VA is looking for a dedicated and hardworking Manufacturing Associate 1 to join their team.

Here’s what you can expect in this role:

• Operate Drill and Laser equipment (CNC machinery)
• Perform detail measurements using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, microscopes, etc.
• Able to read customer drawings and prints.
• Track product
• Communicate daily with Quality and Process Engineering on quality issues
• Cross-train in other areas to assist when others are absent
• Creating/updating documentation such as SOPs, checklists, forms, and work instructions
• Ensure compliance to AS9100/ISO, IPC, Military, Space requirements
• Data entry
• Employee will also be required to work on other tasks and projects as assigned by his/her supervisor and operations manager.

Here’s what you will need to be part of the team:

• Must have at minimum high school diploma.
• Must have good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Applications
• Good written and oral communication skills are a must
• Candidates should have mechanical aptitude and good dexterity
• Ability to multi-task
• Position requires an analytical, detail oriented, quality minded, and organized individual
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, charts, blueprints, and use measuring instruments
• Must be able to do lifting of 20 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally
• Must be able to work flexibly hours and overtime when required, including Saturdays
• Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
