Summary The Blood Bank Network Administrator assists in development of data-driven pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes to ensure the highest levels of quality and provides guidance and assistance for Transfusion Services in all the facilities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or life sciences required. Qualified candidates must be certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. Candidates who meet the qualifications for a Technical Laboratory Supervisor (General Supervisor for transfusion services) as defined by CLIA ’88 are preferred. A minimum of five years of experience performing high complexity laboratory testing is required. Experience in blood banking with an SBB certification is preferred. Previous experience in a leadership role, such as a coordinator or lead position. ADDITIONAL INFO This position reports to the Director Regulatory Affairs. There is no direct supervisory responsibility. Person provides transfusion services technical oversight support to laboratory managers at laboratories performing transfusion-related testing Must be able to serve as a mentor in the use and adaptation of good laboratory and safety practices. Must be able to adapt and respond to rapidly changing processes. Must demonstrate the ability to master computer applications used in this role (eg, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access; laboratory information system programs). Must be able to work with numeric and qualitative data, including data analysis and summarization. Must be willing to travel to the locations throughout Indiana and be willing to work evening or night shifts on occasion as projects require. Must be able to effectively and confidently interact with present and potential customers.
