Certified Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

Mobile Hyperbaric Centers, LLC., (“MHC”), a national health care leader in providing Hyperbaric Medicine Therapy (“HBOT”), is seeking qualified Nurse Practitioners for positions in the Greater Cleveland area.

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for evaluating patients of the practice, creating medical records in the practice electronic medical record, handling medical emergencies that may occur, and serving as a resource to the practice staff. The position will be weekdays and be rotating Saturdays. Previous HBOT experience is not required, as practice will provide training in the specialty of Hyperbaric Medicine. The selected candidate will be required to complete a 40-hour online training course in the specialty of Hyperbaric Medicine.

Qualifications

  • Ohio Licensure
  • Certification by American Nurses Credentialing Center (“ANCC”) in a selected area of specialty of Adult Health or Family Health
  • Current ACLS
  • Current DEA certificate

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to function in a hyperbaric oxygen treatment chamber for limited periods of time
  • Full range of body motion
  • Ability to move/transport patients to/from wheelchairs and treatment chairs to assist as needed
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally, and lift 20 pounds frequently

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients referred to the practice, to determine if their medical condition meets medical necessity guidelines of CMS and commercial payers
  • Perform patient history and physicals, and follow-up visits
  • Document medical record in practice electronic medical record
  • Engage the patient as related to compliance with their treatment program
  • Write consult reports and letters to referring providers
  • Increase provider and patient awareness about the indications and benefits of HBOT
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to Department of Labor, HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, Joint Commission, NFPA, CMS, and maintain compliance with all MHC policies, procedures, and protocols

Employment will be contingent upon meeting all required criteria, including obtaining hospital privileges in the specialty of Hyperbaric Medicine, and issuance of a certificate of malpractice by practice malpractice carrier. Hospital privileges and malpractice will be coordinated by practice.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT ARE CONTRAINDICATIONS TO HYPERBARIC MEDICINE TREATMENT CHAMBERS, INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Pregnancy
  • Untreated Collapsed Lung
  • Untreated Tension Pneumothorax
  • Pacemakers, with some exceptions
  • Asthma
  • Congenital Spherocytosis
  • History of Seizures
  • Optic Neuritis
  • Sickle Cell Disease
  • History of Thoracic Surgery
  • Emphysema with CO2 Retention
  • History of Ear Surgery
  • Middle Ear Barotrauma
  • Use of Doxorubicin or Bleomycin
